Martin has extensive professional photography experience working in Japan and locations worldwide for a wide range of Japanese and international clients.

His work includes a six-year collaboration with Japanese contemporary dancers for a book and exhibition; book projects on Zen masters and mountain temples; advertising, editorial, art, corporate, event, and travel photography; portraits of the famous, the almost famous, and the shouldn't-be-encouraged.

Martin has often doubled up to provide the text to go with his images. His work for feature stories focuses on elements of Japanese culture and society, and he has interviewed a wide range of subjects from movie directors to chefs.

Martin rides an ocean blue bicycle and claims to have the carbon footprint of a small sea bass.
